Talk about killer curves.  Marilyn and Jayne both knew how to maximize their assets.  When it comes to feeling confident and looking slimmer, why not take a page out of their book?  Here are a few full figure tips and tricks for accentuating the positive for major curve appeal!

Build your outfit on a firm foundation

One of the biggest mistakes women make when getting dressed is wearing the wrong undergarments.  A proper fitting bra and slimming, comfortable shape wear can make all the difference in how you will look and feel in your clothes.  There are so may great options for women today in the "slim" wear department - the perfect fitting bra and body smoothing panties will make your body confidence soar.

She's got legs!

I'm sure you'll agree, old Hollywood actresses understood the power of a fabulous dress.  Curvy figures look wonderful in skirts, so choose a style that flatters your great gams.  A-line and pencil skirts are the most flattering choices.  A pencil skirt is both slimming and classic and an A-Line will narrow your waist and flow over your hips and thighs.  Choose a length that hits at a flattering part of your leg - for most women this will be just at or right below the knee.  For another great skirt and dress option - Maxi lengths are ultra versatile and with the proper fit (top of your dress should cinch at the narrowest part of your torso), you'll look and feel like a million bucks!

 No tents allowed!

Sometimes we fall into the trap of trying to hide in clothes that are too big and in doing so, they only make us look bigger.  Instead of wearing a voluminous, shapeless top, choose a longer top that skims the body and hits below the hip and above the thigh.  Longer tops, especially those with detailing at the waist, tend to draw the eye to the smallest part of your torso, making you look more svelte and streamlined!  A long top is best paired with a slim bottom - great fitting tunics and slim pants are a curvy girl's must have!

In living color!

We all know that black is always slimming, but color can make you look both sensational and sleek in a snap! Notice how the girls in the pictures look great just by adding a lightweight, colorful cardigan that has an V-shaped hemline.  Incorporating layers in two colors into your outfit tricks the eye into thinking that there are different dimensions, helping you to look cinched in all the right places!

V Necklines:  Take the plunge

b2ap3_thumbnail_n-natori-solid-jersey-knit-tunic-d-20140318134436537318701_306.jpgb2ap3_thumbnail_dg2-by-diane-gilman-v-neck-boyfriend-sweater-d-20140327153351187310356_304_20140724-141338_1.jpg

Put your face in the spotlight and throw on a v-neck shirt.  The plunge of a V-shaped neckline shows off one of the prettiest parts of a woman, her décolleté.  A V Neckline always looks beautifully feminine, elongates your neck and brings the eye up while slimming you down.

Color Block

For many years, designers have taken notice of what the magical powers of color block can do to a woman's shape!  Strategically placed vertical lines in a darker color on the sides of your body which create a coveted hourglass silhouette!  The darker colors bring the eye in, tricking the eye and making you look instantly slimmer - Abra Cadabra !

All Eyes on You

Lights, camera, action!  Hollywood movie sirens figured this one out a long time ago - One of the best ways to enhance an outfit and flatter a bold beautiful figure is with stunning statement jewelry.  A "conversation" necklace will help strike a perfect cord and create a beautiful focal point.  So don a show stopping necklace and let the complements begin!

Curves never go out of style, so incorporate a few of these slim styling tricks and celebrate beautiful you!

Yes

I love that you will be addressing curves. I am a bigger person and would actually love to see larger size models at HSN. (larger then a size 16) I think it is really important that women see fashions on all sizes, not everyone is a 2 nor are they a size 16. Perhaps HSN can become a leader in fashion for the plus size gals out there. Now that would be exciting!
